VCharge identifies large electric loads, makes them addressable via the Internet, controls them, and turns the load into a cashflow. In the process, we provide homeowners with good, clean heat, and grid operators like PJM and ISO NE with fast frequency response and other ancillary services.

Our current specialty is working with Electric Thermal Storage heat, relatively uncommon in the US, but plentiful in Europe with over 15 million installed units. A 'stone age'​ technology, ETS works by storing heat in ceramic bricks or tanks of water during off-peak hours, and the accessing the stored energy during peak hours. We save a typical homeowner 15% on the cost of heating their home.

ETS is just one special example of Transactive Load that we can control. Transactive loads have some form of storage, and can communicate via our controls to provide rapid, automated demand response and other services to grid operators. Other examples of transactive loads include electric vehicles, compressed air storage, and ice air conditioning.

We currently operate a 20MWh energy storage facility in Pennsylvania comprised of over 200 homes that use ETS heat. We provide price price-sensitive frequency regulation services to PJM using the asset and low-cost heat energy to homeowners. This 'hidden in plain sight'​ grid asset represents cost effective grid-scale storage at less than $20/kWh.

Our Graphics Department has the room to work on 5 trucks at a time, while our Service and Remount facility has 14 bays. Our Setup Shop and Body Shop each have 6 bays. In addition, we have a 50 foot spray booth along with a custom node frame machine to handle practically any customer requirement. South Plainfield and Holbrook each have 10 bays and four service employees.

VCI Emergency Vehicle Specialists provides Maintenance, Repair, Remounting, Body Work, Graphics and Customizations work. Emergency Roadside Repairs are also provided as needed and we also have an Ambulance Loaner Program available.

VCI Service personnel are Ford Motor, Horton Emergency Vehicles, Leader and AEV trained and certified. We are also certified dealers for Braun Mobility Lifts, Whelen, Kelderman Air Suspensions and Road Safety. On the Remount side, VCI is a Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) as recognized by Ford Motor Company.

Valley's service area covers more than 6,800 square miles of rural Nevada and parts of California and includes 24,000 meters with 2,200 miles of distribution and 360 miles of transmission lines.

The 52-year-old Co-op moved aggressively into the high-speed communications business in 2016, creating the first all-optical-fiber community in Nevada. Valley Communications Association is bringing broadband to rural areas that would have little hope of obtaining it otherwise. The backbone of that network is the electric infrastructure built by Valley Electric Association. By piggybacking on the reliable cabling and lines already in place, VCA is able to provide the fastest, most reliable Internet service. Our long-term goal is to position VCA, a wholly owned subsidiary of VEA, to work with other Co-ops in Nevada to bring high-speed communications to the rural areas of the state.

Earlier in 2016, VCA formed a partnership with Switch to connect its Las Vegas SUPERNAP data center ecosystems in southern Nevada to those in northern Nevada using VEA's fiber infrastructure.
