De zaak is gelegen aan wat jarenlang de grootste sporthal van het Antwerpse geweest is. Sporthal Arena heeft reeds een lange geschiedenis en de fundamenten van het gebouw werden reeds rond 1852 gelegd. Het gebouw deed aanvankelijk dienst als fort om Antwerpen te beschermen tegen een mogelijke invasie van Louis-Napoleon die in 1851 een staatsgreep pleegt in Frankrijk.

De fundamenten van de sporthal werden in de volksmond het fortje genoemd --> de oorsprong van onze naam is dus niet ver te zoeken. Er werden in totaal 8 forten gebouwd waarvan er momenteel nog maar enkele overblijven.

Sinds 1955 werd het oorspronkelijk fort overtrokken met een dak en sedert dan heeft het ook steeds een rol als sporthal/evenementenhal gespeeld. Verschillende artiesten hebben de revue gepasseerd in het verleden, en de laatste decennia stond de arenahal zo goed als volledig in het teken van de sport met als voornaamste activiteit basketbal en korfbal. Vanaf 2011 zal hier ook de Antwerpse Volleybalclub zijn thuishaven vinden.

Sinds 2005 wordt de zaak eveneens verhuurd als feestzaal. Iedereen die iets te vieren heeft kan bij ons terecht. Elk feest is anders en iedereen heeft een ander budget. Wij maken steeds een feest op maat.
