Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region, Inc. (CISDR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 1985 to address the growing number of high school dropouts in Dallas and surrounding areas. Communities In Schools is a national dropout prevention program, the only one in the nation proven to both decrease dropout and increase graduation rates. In 1992, the program was brought to Tarrant County by a United Way-led task force. Since then, CIS social workers have been providing case management services inside local schools, to assess each student's unique needs and ensure they are connected with community resources they need to address a wide range of obstacles. Needs range from counseling services, health and dental care, food, utility or rent assistance, clothing, gang intervention and prevention, pregnancy services, and much more. The vast majority of children served by CIS are from low-income households, with 90% qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Most students enrolled in the program come from households where no one has previously graduated from high school.

Our social workers are provided office space directly inside local schools to work intensely with students, and over 80 partner agencies, to provide the critical support the students and their families need, with a 97% success rate at keeping kids in schools. Our program operates in 46 schools in 10 Tarrant County school districts, serving more than 24,000 students.

We receive support from the Texas Education Agency, as well the the United Way and a variety of local foundations and corporations. CIS depends on the support of the community to continue serving at-risk students.

The Seram Non-Bula Block is located on Seram Island, Indonesia and covers an area of about 4,572 square kilometres. The principal field in the Seram Non-Bula Block is the Oseil Field. The Oseil field is located in the Seram Non-Bula PSC area on the island of Seram about 300 kilometers east of the city of Ambon. The field is located inland from the northeast coast of the island. As at 31 December 2009, the Seram Non-Bula Block had estimated proved oil reserves of 8.7 million barrels. The average production in 2009 was about 2,300 barrels per day (gross) of 15° to 22° API oil.

Discovery of the Oseil Field occurred in 1993 with the drilling of the Oseil-1 well, which found oil-bearing sections within the Manusela Carbonate. Since that time, nine additional wells, both vertical and horizontal, have been drilled to develop the field and have identified oil-bearing Manusela accumulations in four separate closures. Currently, oil has been produced from three of the four fault block closures. In the period from 1988 to 2002, the operator has drilled four exploration wells in the Seram Non-Bula Block, resulting in commercial oil discovery in the Oseil Field.

On 23 November 2006, CITIC Seram (an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company) completed the acquisition of a 51% participating interest from KUFPEC. As of the same date, CITIC Seram became the operator responsible for the day to day petroleum operations at the Seram Non-Bula Block. As the operator of the Seram Non-Bula Block, CITIC Seram is expected to maintain and improve current production levels at the Oseil Field on an economic and efficient basis in order to maximise output at the Oseil Field. Under the Production Sharing Contract, the Contractor (collectively the participants other than BPMIGAS namely CITIC Seram, KUFPEC, GPI and Lion) has been granted a 100% right to explore, develop and produce oil from the Seram Non-Bula Block for a period of 20 years until 2019.

Citizen Schools is re-imagining the middle school experience for low income students; ensuring that each child has the academic support, hands-on learning experiences and mentorship required to combat the opportunity gap and position them for success in high school, college and as productive and inspired members of American society.

Citizen Schools was founded in 1995 by Eric Schwarz and Ned Rimer, former college roommates concerned with the rise of youth crime, struggling neighborhoods, and challenges within public schools in Boston. The extended learning time (ELT) model Citizen Schools uses today grew out of a series of successful summer-time apprenticeships, taught by Eric and Ned. In his first apprenticeship, Eric leveraged his expertise as a reporter to engage twenty students at a Dorchester elementary school; helping each child write and edit articles that they later fashioned into a traditional newspaper using a local printing press. Eric has outlined his experiences growing Citizen Schools and its impact on student learning nationwide in his recent book, The Opportunity Gap.

Over the past 20 years, Citizen Schools has grown to serve students across the nation, using apprenticeships as a core component of its Extended Learning Time (ELT) model. The standard public school day, was developed to meet the needs of an agrarian society and not the high tech world of today. By partnering with Citizen Schools, public districts add on average 400 hours of instructional time to the school day; complementing traditional lessons with hands-on learning opportunities, academic support and structured homework time. Citizen Schools programming also builds non-cognitive or social and emotional skills through interactions with caring adults introduced to the school as Citizen Teachers, who run apprenticeships, and AmeriCorps Teaching Fellows, who are available to students both during traditional and extended school hours.
