Wright Career College, originally known as Wright Business School/Dickinson Business School, was founded in 1921 to train typists for Kansas City businesses. A secretarial program was added in 1953, and with it a new shorthand system was developed. By the late nineteen fifties, this system was widely accepted in the Kansas City area and became known as Dickinson Shorthand. Created in 2012, WRIST is made up of a small team of editors and writers. We at WRIST self-finance, design, organize, execute, publish and distribute our ad-free, monthly publication exhibiting local writers and artists; in printed form and free of cost to readers.

WRIST is not a business--it is a place for South Sound authors to connect and voice themselves creatively. Previously, work from South Sound writers was often randomly expressed, and intermittent at best. Our goal at WRIST is to establish a consistent outlet for creativity that will inspire both writers and readers to stay awake. We hope that WRIST will simultaneously provide an outlet for new voices, while preserving those already published.

Although many literary arts magazines are shifting towards online publications, we feel it is important to preserve and publish the work of our authors. Westcountry Rivers Trust (WRT) is a charity that was setup in 1995 to protect, enhance and restore the westcountry's rivers. It was the first rivers trust and plays a strategic role as part of the rivers trust network which now has representation in catchments across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with new ones continually forming. The WSC produces around 30 million cubic metres of water every year by means of three reverse osmosis plants as well as underground sources, serving more than 420,000 people in Malta & Gozo.

The WSC is well known for its leakage reduction and water loss reduction practises, so much so, that it is currently advising the water authorities of Beirut about leakage reduction techniques.

Our people are among the most highly experienced in the industry designing and building a range of medium-sized R.O. units for sale to large hotels, industries and other clients.

We are also responsible for wastewater and are in the final stages of a crucial national project to produce high quality second-class water from treated effluent for agriculture, industry and other uses. This will revolutionise the country's water situation and reduce or even eliminate the pressure on Malta's rapidly depleting underground sources.

This will provide treated effluent good for landscaping and some crops. However, we have also produced a Mobile Polishing Plant which is a trailer-able, stand-alone unit which treats this irrigation water further. This prototype can not only supply specific quality water for agriculture, but it can also be adapted for use in disaster-hit areas.

The WSC also supports a number of experimental projects such as diesel production from algae and the effects on the taste of crops of different types and qualities of water.

WSFA has continually built its news department. In the early days, it was one half-hour newscast a day. Now, WSFA airs more than 19 hours of local newscasts each week.
