Our goal is to provide the low-income uninsured people with early access to healthcare, and health supporting programs and services, in order to prevent more costly mental and physical health problems. Over 100 patients are seen Wednesdays from 5pm to 10pm on a first-come, first-serve basis.

This page is to create awareness of our need for more volunteer medical professionals. Unfortunately the amount of medical professionals volunteering dictates the amount of patients served. It is ideal to have 10 doctors volunteering at the same time, but when we only have a few it is not uncommon to be forced to turn away patients. Primary Care & Internal Medicine Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Dentists, and Pharmacists are all needed. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) is one of six metropolitan brigades in England and one of the busiest in the country. It covers the districts of Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.

Emergency cover is provided 24/7, 365 days of the year. Trained and highly skilled firefighters respond to a number of incidents, including fires, road traffic collisions, flooding, people trapped and unsafe structures, to name but a few. Emergency 999 operators are trained to manage incidents and provide essential survival guidance.

From April 2016 to 31 March 2017, WYFRS dealt with 22,447 incidents and firefighters carried out 727 rescues.

WYFRS is also committed to preventing fires and other emergency incidents, with both specialist officers and firefighters visiting vulnerable people in their homes to provide Safe and Well checks. Prevention teams based around West Yorkshire work in communities and with young people to drive down accidents and injuries. Last year, firefighters and specialist staff carried out 309,719 home fire safety checks.

The Protection department provides guidance and support in discharging statutory fire safety duties, working with businesses in West Yorkshire and beyond.

In addition, there are a number of specialist support services which provide vital expertise to enable the brigade to function 24/7and provide a first class fire and rescue service. The support services include functions such as ICT, specialist training, media and PR, HR, transport, finance and property services to name but a few.

The Service is governed by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority, which is made up of elected representatives from local authorities in Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.

West Yorkshire Police serve approximately 2.2 million people living in one of the five metropolitan districts of Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield.

The area is policed by around 5,000 police officers and 3,600 support staff, including Police Community Support Officers. This makes the Force the fourth largest in the country.

West Yorkshire Police has 47 Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) which are Inspector led and made up of Sergeants, Constables and Police Community Support Officers. Neighbourhood teams are visible and accessible to local communities, providing the familiar face of the service. Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI), a Davey Tree Company, has grown from its 1991 inception to be one of the leading natural and cultural resources consulting firms in the mid-Atlantic. Our engineers, scientists, regulatory specialists, permit compliance specialists, arborists, archeologists, ecosystem & restoration specialists, surveyors, and geographic information specialists provide expertise and experience for public and private sector clients to obtain Clean Water Act permits and other environmental approvals. Matt is a certified dog trainer with the Animal Behavior College, and is certified in animal First Aid/CPR with the American Red Cross. The philosophy and methodology used, centers around positive reinforcement. He employs a scientifically proven teaching method derived from dolphin training that uses a marker signal to reinforce a desired behavior. This method helps dogs learn faster and better enables both dog and owner to enjoy the training experience.

Matt began his career by opening his own dog walking business in New York City in 2008 inspired by his passion for animals. He was invited by Kate Perry of Kate Perry Dog Training to be an assistant trainer and to studied regularly with her on more advanced cases. Matt has now relocated to San Francisco and is the owner/operator of Wet Nose Pet Care in the downtown area.

Matt grew up in Ohio where he and his father were avid sportsmen and trained many of their own working dogs. He also continues to study new training methodologies through workshops and seminars and is trained in Veterinary Assistant procedures. Matt is a supporter of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Humane Society of the United States.
