Oltalom Sports Association (OSA) has been using sport as an innovative tool of education for over ten years now. We have, so far, assisted more than one thousand disadvantaged people to do their best both physically and intellectually at the regular and free trainings we held throughout the year. Utah has a unified state court system for the operation of the appellate, district (general jurisdiction), and juvenile courts. The governance of the courts is the responsibility of the state Judicial Council which administers the system through the Administrative Office of the Courts.

The state trial courts are organized into eight judicial districts consisting of 29 counties. Administration of each district is the responsibility of an appointed Court Executive, supported by a Clerk of Court and Chief of Probation. All operations are state funded, including court facilities. The state court system and justice courts combined have approximately 1600 employees.

All judges are appointed and then stand for retention election. The 72 district court judges are judges of general jurisdiction and handle criminal, civil and domestic matters. The 30 juvenile court judges serve in the court with jurisdiction over youths under 18 years of age who violate a state or municipal law. This jurisdiction also includes cases involving abused, neglected, or dependent children. Justice courts handle traffic, misdemeanors, and small claims.

UTEC's three primary outcomes are: reduced criminal involvement, increased employability, and increased educational attainment. Driven by evidence-based data, the recidivism rate of UTEC-enrolled youth averages less than 15%, compared with a statewide average above 50%.

De um pequeno curso preparatório para exames de admissão ao antigo ginásio à consolidação como uma das maiores instituições de Ensino Superior do Sul do Brasil: essa é a trajetória da Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná, uma instituição com 57 anos dedicados à educação.

O embrião da UTP foi o Curso Tuiuti, fundado em 1958, em Curitiba, pelo oficial da arma da Infantaria, professor e educador, Sydnei Lima Santos. Sempre ao lado da esposa, Maria de Lourdes Rangel Santos, ele dedicou boa parte da vida à formação de gerações de estudantes e à construção da Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná.

Por mais de duas décadas a Tuiuti foi a única instituição educacional do Paraná a oferecer ensino pré-escolar; de 1º e 2º graus e ensino superior.

A primeira unidade de Ensino Superior, a Faculdade de Filosofia, Ciências e Letras, em 1973, oferecia os cursos de Pedagogia, Psicologia e Letras. Em 1981, foram criados os cursos de Fisioterapia, Fonoaudiologia e Terapia Ocupacional. Em 1990, seguiram-se os cursos de Processamento de Dados, Odontologia e, no ano seguinte, o curso de Direito. Em 1993, a Tuiuti consolidou-se em Faculdades Integradas da Sociedade Educacional Tuiuti – FISET, ampliando a oferta de cursos que atendiam às demandas da sociedade.

Em 7 de julho de 1997, por meio de um decreto do então Presidente da República Fernando Henrique Cardoso, foi criada a Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná. A primeira universidade particular de Curitiba nasceu com 17 cursos e uma orientação: "Tecer a alma da Universidade do Terceiro Milênio".

A transformação em universidade permitiu um salto no desenvolvimento de pesquisa em consonância com o ensino e extensão. Foram criados os programas de Mestrados em Comunicação e Linguagens, Educação e Distúrbios da Comunicação, que em 2006 tornaram-se também programas de Doutorado. O reconhecimento da CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior) – órgão governamental responsável pela autorização e avaliação da pós-graduação stricto sensu, aos programas confirmam a vocação da Universitária da Tuiuti.

Após a morte do professor Sydnei, em 2001, a direção da instituição passa aos três filhos do casal Lima Santos: Luiz Guilherme Rangel Santos (reitor); Carlos Eduardo Rangel Santos (pró-reitor administrativo) e Afonso Celso Rangel Santos (pró-reitor de planejamento e avaliação). O legado do fundador continua sendo honrado com a filosofia que é, acima de tudo, um norte: a Promoção Humana.

A Tuiuti não se contenta apenas em formar bons profissionais para um mercado em constante transformação. A instituição vai além. Com o comprometimento social da Promoção Humana indica caminhos aos futuros profissionais e cidadãos por meio de projetos pedagógicos consistentes e investe em programas permanentes de extensão que cumprem um papel social na comunidade. Ações como os pioneiros programas de inclusão e as diversas clínicas, núcleos e centros voltados ao atendimento da comunidade. Atualmente, a UTP realiza mais de 150 mil atendimentos à população por ano. Já a contribuição científica é produzida por 160 professores pesquisadores que alcançaram o significativo número de 6.300 artigos publicados.

Aos 57 anos, a UTP oferece 36 cursos de graduação, sendo 11 superiores de Tecnologia, quatro mestrados e três doutorados. Os atuais 10 mil alunos que estudam nos quatro campi da instituição, junto com os 620 professores da casa, fazem parte da comunidade Tuiuti que chega a mais de cem mil pessoas, considerando professores, funcionários, estudantes e egressos.
