En 1950 Rodelag inició operaciones en la Plaza 5 de Mayo, en ese entonces Centro Comercial de la Ciudad de Panamá.

El nombre de Rodelag nace de los apellidos de dos grandes familias: Romero y De La Guardia.

En el correr de 6 décadas de actividad, su local sufrió traslados y transformaciones, ubicándose posteriormente en la avenida Justo Arosemena, en el Edificio San Gregorio, de donde finalmente pasó a la ubicación actual en Vía Transístmica. En 1955, cónsono con la importante actividad comercial que la familia Romero había desarrollado en la Provincia de Chiriquí, se inaugura la primera Sucursal de Rodelag en la ciudad de David.

La gradual consolidación de Rodelag en un Almacén departamental de ventas al por mayor y al detal de artículos nacionales e importados, hace que su estructura operativa se amplíe y se convierta en un grupo económico liderando el mercado.

En 1992 se inauguró la Sucursal de Rodelag en Azuero, en 1993 se crea la Sucursal de Rodelag en La Chorrera, en 1994 se crea la Sucursal de Rodelag Plaza Carolina y la Sucursal Rodelag Los Pueblos, la cual fue inaugurada en el año 1997.

Los años han pasado y se han dando cambios en las organizaciones, por lo que Rodelag también ha entrado en un proceso de reingeniería, renovándose para mantener y hacer crecer la familia de clientes a quiénes se debe por la preferencia que siempre le han brindado.
