We are a non-governmental organisation (NGO) with 1500 volunteers, more than 1000 contributors and 28 members of staff at the offices in Nijmegen and Amsterdam. We carry out research for a wide variety of clients, giving them advice on species occurring in land and water habitats in locations ranging from building sites to nature reserves.

RAVON is the research and knowledge organisation concerning/regarding amphibians, reptiles and fish in The Netherlands. The results of the elaborate field studies has been made visible in a new dispersion atlas of Dutch amphibians and reptiles. Also, work is being put into more precise mapping of the dispersion of freshwater fish, and into stimulating research of fish.
