Much of our passion for frying started way back at the foundation of our company with an idea and a goal to become the largest frying manufacturer in the world, with our founder J.C. Pitman. Here's an excerpt from an inter-office memo from January 14th, 1946:

'In 1918 J. C. Pitman and Sons Hotel & Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers, while attempting to work out a more satisfactory method of frying, made some important discoveries. One was that if the small particles of food which ordinarily settled to the bottom of the French Fry pot (where they collected and burned) could be kept away from the intense heat of that part of the kettle, the quality of fried food could be greatly improved. The Pitco Frialator was invented on this basic principle - - and patented. This brought about a complete change in the method of deep fat frying. The fat medium was heated by tubes running through the center of the fat container. This construction permitted all sediment from the food being fried to drip below the heating tubes into a cool zone where it could not carbonize and break down the frying fat.'

Nikšićko Pivo je baštinik bogate tradicije pivarstva u Nikšiću, koja seže do 1896. godine kada je preduzetni vizionar Vuko Jankov Krivokapić, uz blagoslov Knjaza Nikole, osnovao prvu pivaru pod imenom "Onogošt". Materijalna sredstva za ovaj rizičan poduhvat obezbijedio je Vukov otac, Janko, imućan domaćin. Knjaz Nikola dao je Krivokapiću saglasnost za podizanje prve fabrike bire u Crnoj Gori i istovremeno ga oslobodio carine na uvezenu opremu, sirovine i dažbine na pivo.

Pivo iz Vukove proizvodnje brzo je sa trona skinulo medovinu koja je do tada bila omiljeno piće Crnogoraca, a vec junu 1900. godine, Knjaz Nikola je Krivokapića odlikovao Zlatnom medaljom za revnost.

Ipak, Vuko i njegov otac Janko, zbog teškoća u poslovanju, morali su se udružiti sa trojicom poznatih privrednika, kojima su 1902. godine ustupili tri četvrtine vlasništva, za 76 hiljada kruna. Pivara je 1909. godine pretvorena u akcionarsko društvo Crnogorska pivara „Onogošt", sa osnovnim kapitalom od 250 000 perpera, podijeljenih na 2 500 akcija.

Zbog potreba tržišta, jedan broj nikšićkih trgovaca i zanatlija odlučuje da 1908. podigne novu Pivaru, čije se ime "Trebjesa" održalo do danas uprkos burnim istorijskim mijenama.

Trudom i znanjem generacija iskusnih pivara stvoren je beskompromisan kvalitet, zahvaljujući kojem je Nikšićko Pivo odavno prešlo granice regiona i postalo najprepoznatljiviji brend iz Crne Gore.
