Peerless Pump Company is a manufacturer of centrifugal pumps and systems for liquid applications. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana in the USA, Peerless and its associated companies and products have a history going back over 100 years.

Peerless specializes in the design, manufacture and servicing of various types of centrifugal pump including vertical turbine pumps, horizontal split case pumps, end suction pumps, in-line vertical pumps and a number of others.

Peerless has been successful in manufacturing pumps for use in commercial and industrial buildings for fire protection see fire pumps, plumbing and HVAC.

Formed in 1923 in California.

Peerless was one of the original companies manufacturing deep well vertical turbine pumps for groundwater applications. Peerless has been a proud Hoosier company since 1948 when it consolidated its Eastern operations from a number of factories in the Midwest. Peerless is able to test pumps up to over 150,000 U.S. gallons per minute and over 2,500 hp to U.S. and international standards.

Peerless also has facilities in Selma, Alabama where it manufactures LaBour process pumps, Fresno, California, Lubbock, Texas and Monterrey, Mexico. In addition to this and sales offices throughout the United States, Peerless has offices in Singapore, Torino, Italy and South Eastern France.

On December 1, 2007, Peerless became a wholly owned subsidiary company of the Grundfos group of Denmark, who thereby became Peerless's fourth owner since its foundation 84 years before. In January 2009, Grundfos acquired Yeomans Chicago Corporation in Aurora, Illinois, a manufacturer of sewage pumps, thereby reuniting these two companies who had been sisters until 33 years previously when Peerless was sold.

The Educational Research Institute was established in 1965 by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, as an institute devoted to the study of education. From 1970 the ERI was associated with the University of Ljubljana until the 1995 when, with an act of the Government of Slovenia, ERI obtained the status of the public research institution and thus became an independent research institute.

ERI is a founding member of the European Educational Research Association (EERA).

AIMS / GOALS

The Institute performs its activities in the context of the national research programme as a public service. The Institute also performs activities for other clients, to the extent and in the manner determined by the programme of development and the annual plan. In connection with current research, the main activities of the Institute are additionally:

- linking with related domestic and international institutions,

- meeting the status, staff and infrastructural conditions for inclusion in permanent networks of international educational research (OECD, IEA studies, Council of Europe, etc.),

- training and post-graduate education of researchers, consultation and the dissemination of the results of research work,

- directing research into fields which are strategically important for Slovenia,
