The new era of telecommunication in Pakistan has brought several challenges with it, despite of the advantages it has made visible for the consumers. Being aware of the new technologies, demand for new services and converged network NTC is in the process of upgrading and expanding its network. Migration from conventional TDM network to IP based Next Generation Network has been planned and being implemented. The 622 Mbps optical fiber backbone not able to meet the requirement of bandwidth hungry applications is being upgraded to 10 Gbps DWDM based technology. To improve the efficiency ERP solution has been planned and under process of implementation. To gain access to NTC users efforts are being made for frequency allocation and as a stop gap arrangement virtual WLL connections are being provided to NTC subscribers. To provide value added service from its own platform NTC is planning its own IN platform. Very soon NTC subscribers will be hearing NTC operators for customer relations, call booking and complaints through its state-of-the-art call center

About Us:

The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) is a regional provider of water, wastewater and solid waste disposal services. The NTMWD serves a population of approximately 1.6 million residents in 90 communities across the north Texas counties of Collin, Dallas, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hopkins, Hunt, Kaufman, Rains, and Rockwall – a service territory covering 2,200 square miles.

History:

In 1946, local leaders from ten cities formed the Tri-County Reservoir Association (TCRA) to work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to build Lavon Lake for flood control and water storage. By request of the TCRA, the Texas Legislature authorized the formation of the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) in 1951 to develop, finance, construct, and operate facilities to meet future water needs for the region.

The 10 original cities - Farmersville, Forney, Garland, McKinney, Mesquite, Plano, Princeton, Rockwall, Royse City, and Wylie - became the original Member Cities, each with representation on our Board of Directors. Three additional cities were added including Richardson (1973), Allen (1998), and Frisco (2001). We also provide treated water service to 33 Customers (cities and other special/municipal utility districts) and indirectly serve 46 other communities who purchase water from our Member Cities and Customers.

We began offering wastewater treatment services in the 1970s and solid waste disposal services in the 1980s. We also operate the largest man-made wetlands in the country - a vital water reuse project that helps to naturally polish treated wastewater, supplement our water supplies, and supports a valuable ecosystem to the region.

National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) was established in 1953 as Provincial Taiwan Maritime Technology College. Eleven years later, in 1964, we became a maritime college that offered bachelor's and master's degrees in various maritime fields. During this period, the college was supported by the Taiwan Provincial Government of the Republic of China. In 1979, we became a national institution, and were renamed the National Taiwan College of Marine Science and Technology. A decade later, in 1989, the college became a full-fledged university.

At present, NTOU has six colleges - Maritime Science and Management, Life Sciences, Ocean Science and Resource, Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as Humanities and Social Sciences. These Colleges house a total of 29 undergraduate departments and graduate institutes.

As we look at the progress over the past 61 years, the University has undergone a great growth and change and is now recognized as one of the nation's most important centers of high learning and scholarship, especially in the marine sciences,maritime studies,and fisheries.

Naples Equestrian Challenge (NEC) is a therapeutic horseback riding center in Naples, FL. The mission of Naples Equestrian Challenge is to improve the lives of children and adults with special needs through therapeutic riding and other equine-related programs.

NEC began in 1995 as a satellite of the Special Equestrians therapeutic riding center in Fort Myers, FL. The NEC satellite group began with 4 volunteers, 4 children with disabilities and 2 borrowed horses on a borrowed field. In 1997 NEC incorporated as a separate nonprofit organization. In 2000 NEC became a NARHA-certified riding center (NARHA is an international accrediting organization which has standardized the practices of therapeutic riding and equine-facilitated mental health activities). With the generous support of the community, NEC has expanded from serving 4 individuals in 1995 to serving 220 individuals in 2009. NEC programming would not be possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers, who invested over 25,000 of their time in 2009.

NEC currently operates on a 5-acre site which includes the NEC administrative office, a covered riding arena and a barn that is home to a herd of ten horses. Today NEC programs include therapeutic riding for individuals with disabilities, Equine-Facilitated Mental Health Association (EFMHA) activities, summer camps and occasional outreach programs. NEC is currently serving approximately 220 individuals per year, ranging in age from 2 to 66 years old. The disabilities of our riders include cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, ADHD, autism spectrum, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke survivors and developmental delay. EFMHA participants at NEC include children and adults with mental illness and behavioral disorders. Currently 80% of NEC's participants are children under the age of 18.

Nazarbayev University (NU) is a brand new university located in Astana, the national capital of Kazakhstan. The University (named initially as New University of Astana) was founded in 2009 per the personal initiative of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev to prepare the next generation of national technical and scientific elites.

Because English is the international language of science and research, and the basis for attracting global talent, instruction and research at NU are in English. The expectation of connectivity for voice or data is exactly the same as with the utilities that provide us gas and electricity. You turn it on and it's there. Instantaneous access with full mobility for millions of subscribers. Everytime, anytime, anyplace. Done!

Not quite the case for Cloud Computing yet... It takes an inordinate amount of time for virtual machines(VMs) to be instantiated and to be connected to the network. Worse, the reliability of the network is atrocious. And mobility? Limited with many network restrictions that renders it useless. If the network can't make the VMs available instantaneously when you need them, there is no cloud. If the network can't provide unfettered, boundary less mobility, there is no cloud. If the network can't be provisioned dynamically and instantaneously for each tenant based on their SLA, there is no cloud. Bottom line: The consumption of compute and network is far from approaching the reliability and availabilty of wireline and mobile networks. At Nuage Networks, we intend to change that.
