Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) is the largest child health research institute in Australia and one of the top five worldwide. Our team of more than 1900 talented researchers is dedicated to making discoveries to prevent and treat childhood conditions. Many of our researchers are also clinicians at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, where the Institute is based. McCreary Centre Society is a non-government not-for-profit committed to improving the health of BC youth through research and community-based projects. Founded in 1977, McCreary sponsors and promotes a wide range of activities and research to identify and address the health needs of young people in the province.

McCreary is most well-known for the BC Adolescent Health Survey (BC AHS), which takes place every five years in public schools across the province. In addition to the repeated research projects, such as the BC AHS, a survey with youth in custody, and homeless and street-involved youth, McCreary also undertakes topic-specific and one-off research and consultation projects with youth.

In addition to doing internal evaluations of its own projects, McCreary carries out independent evaluations for other non-profit agencies. We adopt a collaborative and flexible approach to evaluations, with the programs being evaluated ultimately deciding on the evaluation approach best suited to meet their needs and goals. All measures and tools are developed in consultation with the organization and other relevant stakeholders, including youth, and modifications are made based on their feedback.

McCreary's Youth Advisory and Action Council (YAC) creates opportunities for youth ages 15-24 to make a difference in their communities, meet new friends, share their voice, and take part in training and leadership activities. The Montgomery County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association (MCVFRA) is made up of the 19 separate, independent, fire and rescue corporations in Montgomery County Maryland. The MCVFRA has numerous committees that address issues associated with the betterment of the fire and rescue service in Montgomery County. The MCVFRA also will comment and recommend to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Commission any changes which will better the delivery of fire and rescue service to the citizens of Montgomery County. Each member department has their President and Chief and (1) alternate elected or appointed to serve the MCVFRA.

The MCVFRA meets on the third Thursday of each month at a member hosting department. Each meeting night will start with a meal at 6:30 p.m. with the business meeting immediately afterward.
