Marport Terminal Operators was established in 2001 in order to provide terminal requirements for containers, needed for increasing numbers of foreign trade in Turkey. Located in Istanbul Ambarli port facilities, it enables fast transportation via the connections into TEM and E-5 highways on European side. All shares of Limak Cimento A.S., also located in Ambarli Port Facilities, are delivered by Marport in 2014. An area of 40.000 square meters including sea embankment and port areas and a field area of 64.000 square meters are incorporated to Marport after this turnover and an area of 440.000 square meters in total is used for providing services. With its 16.5 mt draft, 7 quays and 10 STS gantry cranes, Marport will be a terminal to handle 20 ships with side capacity. Marport also handled 1.585.419 TEU containers in 2015 and still continues to lead container port sector with a market share of 33% in Marmara Region and 21% throughout Turkey in order to first half data of 2016.
