Alterations in room temperature and lighting lead to a reduction in energy consumption, lowering equipment wear and tear, and decreasing utility bills. Upon re-occupancy of the room, lighting and room temperature are restored. The system has the capability to expand to a centralized energy use monitoring application. HVAC and lighting cost and consumption may be reduced by as much as 45%. The Energex systems are used in over 14 countries and have been approved by major North American utility companies.
