787 From the beginning, Jesus associated his disciples with his own life, revealed the mystery of the Kingdom to them, and gave them a share in his mission, joy, and sufferings.215 Jesus spoke of a still more intimate communion between him and those who would follow him: 'Abide in me, and I in you. . . . I am the vine, you are the branches.'216 And he proclaimed a mysterious and real communion between his own body and ours: 'He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.'217

788 When his visible presence was taken from them, Jesus did not leave his disciples orphans. He promised to remain with them until the end of time; he sent them his Spirit.218 As a result communion with Jesus has become, in a way, more intense: 'By communicating his Spirit, Christ mystically constitutes as his body those brothers of his who are called together from every nation.'219

789 The comparison of the Church with the body casts light on the intimate bond between Christ and his Church. Not only is she gathered around him; she is united in him, in his body. Three aspects of the Church as the Body of Christ are to be more specifically noted: the unity of all her members with each other as a result of their union with Christ; Christ as head of the Body; and the Church as bride of Christ.

DKT-Ethiopia is a registered international NGO, working throughout Ethiopia, and engaged in the promotion of positive behavioral change for family planning and prevention of HIV transmission, through the social marketing of condoms, contraceptives as well as oral rehydration solutions for diarrhea in children and other reproductive health commodities using accessible networks in the country.

DKT is one of the largest private providers of family planning and reproductive health products and services in the developing world, serving 22 million couples in 2011.

DKT India is an affiliate of DKT International, USA. It was established in 1992. Since 1989, the nonprofit organization DKT International has been promoting family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention. DKT has 19 programs in 18 countries and in 2011 provided and sold 650 million condoms, more than 72 million cycles of oral contraceptives, and over 14 million injectable contraceptives, 1 million IUDs, and 12 million misoprostol pills. Last year, DKT's efforts prevented 7 million pregnancies, 11,000 maternal deaths, and 1.4 million abortions.

In June 2011, DKT received a coveted honor by being named as #1 in Charity Navigator's list of top 10 consistently excellent charities. For the sixth year in a row DKT also earned Charity Navigator's four-star rating.

Since 1989, the nonprofit organization DKT International has been promoting family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention through social marketing in the developing world.

Today, DKT International designs and implements social marketing programs in 19 countries, employing 1,800 employees around the world. DKT has programs in Mexico, Brazil, Egypt, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Turkey, Thailand, Tanzania, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Morocco, Ghana, the Philippines, Pakistan, and Nigeria.

In 2012, DKT's programs served approximately 22 million couples, making DKT one of the largest private providers of family planning in the developing world. DKT's sales totals for 2012 included 600 million condoms, over 76 million cycles of oral contraceptives, over 16 million injectable contraceptives, over 1.5 million IUDs, emergency contraception, implants, mifepristone/misoprostol, and manual vacuum aspiration kits.

Dedan Kimathi University of Technology started as a community project in 1972 then known as Kimathi Institute of Technology (KIT), opening doors to its first students in 1978. KIT rapidly emerged as a leading institution in the country in the training of Certified Public Accountants.

It was upgraded to University status in 2007, and renamed Kimathi University College of Technology ( KUCT), a constituent college of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology .

This institution operated as a constituent college for five years until 14th December, 2012 when it was upgraded to full university status after being granted a charter and renamed Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DKUT). The grand ceremony of granting the charter was presided over by the president of the republic of Kenya, His Excellency Mwai Kibaki.

The management of DKUT envisages that this institution will emerge as a unique technological University with a major impact on national development when it implements most of her development plans embedded in her vision whose blueprint is vision 2030.
