A Rádio Diplomata iniciou suas atividades em caráter experimental dia 27 de setembro de 1990 e teve a autorização para operar em definitivo em 15 de novembro de 1990, data comemorada como aniversário da emissora.

Inicialmente operou em classe C com 180 watts na frequência de 104,9 MHz. Em 04 de novembro de 1992 passou a operar em classe B1 com 2500 watts na frequência de 105,1 MHz (autorizada pela Portaria 011/91 de 21 de janeiro de 1991). Em setembro de 1996 passou a operar em classe A3 com 30.000 watts na frequência de 105,3 MHz (autorizada pela Portaria 033 de 04 de abril de 1996).

A Diplomata FM foca na população de Brusque, Guabiruba, Botuverá e cidades vizinhas, como Itajaí, Nova Trento, São João Batista, Gaspar, Canelinha e Tijucas. A Diplomata pode ser ouvida por todo litoral norte de Santa Catarina, Vale do Itajaí e Vale do Rio Tijucas, sempre na frequência 105,3 FM.

A programação musical é jovem, tocando pop, rock, hiphop, dance, reggae, entre outros ritmos. Durante a programação, não há apenas música: temos informações e curiosidades, quadros de humor, programas interativos (via internet ou telefone), entre tantas outras coisas.

A emissora também conta com um departamento de jornalismo bastante atuante na região, cobrindo fatos e eventos e divulgando tanto no rádio (no Jornal da Diplomata, de segunda a sábado das 06 às 08 da manhã e eventualmente durante a programação), quanto na internet (website e redes sociais).
