Dalda's story begins in early 1930's when Hindustan Vanaspati Manufacturing Co (today's Hindustan Lever Limited) wanted to start manufacturing Vanaspati locally. At that time hydrogenated vegetable oil was imported in India by a Dutch company, Dada & Co. Dada & Co, insisted that the branded product should reflect their name, hence in a bid to establish their ownership of the brand Hindustan Lever introduced the letter ‘L' for Lever into the name; giving rise to the name DALDA.

Dalda Banaspati through its promise of superior quality & taste has won the hearts millions of consumers making it not only a household name in the sub-continent by synonymous with the genre vanaspati.

Dalda, in its quest to meet the changing needs of its consumers; entered the oils segment through the launch of Dalda Cooking oil.

On an average day in Dallas County, more than 2,000 abused and neglected children live in foster care because they cannot live safely at home. These children need powerful voices to speak for them. Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a non-profit organization of volunteers who are voices for abused children in court.

Judges appoint Dallas CASA volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children, helping these children have safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible. Dallas CASA exists so that abused and neglected children in protective care have the chance to become successful adults. With the help of caring advocates, the cycle of abuse and neglect will be broken.

Dallas CASA has a strong and steady history demonstrating its ability to grow the number of children it serves. Over the last 10 years, Dallas CASA has increased the total number of children served annually by more than 205 percent. In 2016, Dallas CASA served 2,768 children. The program also recruited and trained a record 420 new volunteer advocates during the year, increasing it number of active CASA volunteer advocates to more than 1,200.

Our organization is run entirely by volunteers and all of our pets are housed by dedicated foster families throughout North Texas.

The Dallas Stars are a professional ice hockey team located in Dallas, Texas, that play as a member in the 30-team National Hockey League (NHL). Founded in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars, the team moved to Dallas in 1993 under then-owner, Norm Green. The Dallas Wings are a professional basketball team based in Arlington, Texas, playing in the Western Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
