About the Trust

Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust has two main sites: Colchester General Hospital and Essex County Hospital.

Colchester General Hospital opened in 1984. There are 596 inpatient beds (general and anaesthetic), 44 maternity beds (including at Clacton and Harwich hospitals) and 12 critical care beds. (This doesn't include cots or A&E.)

Essex County Hospital was opened in 1820 and has two wards used for oncology (cancer) patients.

Scientific staff are based at the Severalls Hospital site and in the microbiology department near Colchester General Hospital.

Although it is our strategy to centralise acute services at Colchester General Hospital, we also provide some services - such as outpatient and maternity services - at the community hospitals in Clacton and Harwich.

The population we serve

The Trust provides healthcare services to around 370,000 people from Colchester and the surrounding area of north east Essex. In addition, we provide radiotherapy and oncology services to a wider population of about 670,000 people across north and mid-Essex. Our new £25m state-of-the-art radiotherapy centre being built at Colchester General Hospital should start treating its first patients in spring 2014. It will replace the current radiotherapy centre at Essex County Hospital.

A new service for major arterial vascular surgery began in 2012 for the 750,000 population of north east Essex, east Suffolk and the Colne Valley. Anyone from that area requiring the most complex vascular surgery, either as an emergency or elective (planned) procedure, now has their operation at Colchester General Hospital.

Our independent office was started in 1972. Later Hank and Pat Holman joined the Coldwell Banker team in 1983. Frank Reskin became a partner in 1996 and purchased the company outright in 1998. En marzo de 1987 empezó a funcionar el Colegio San Esteban Diácono. Tres años en Bilbao esquina de Magallanes en una casa con forma de castillo hasta que se trasladó a la Casona Lo Gallo en Vitacura. Más grande, pero también sobrio y acogedor, es este Monumento Nacional.

en Colina, el Colegio San Nicolás, tercer Colegio Diaconal.

A mediados de 1998 cuando ya había cumplido una década el Colegio San Esteban Diácono, en Vitacura, y estaba consolidado el Colegio San Felipe Diácono en Calera de Tango, con la compra de un terreno en Colina comenzó a hacerse realidad la idea de formar el Colegio San Nicolás Diácono. El 2000, empezó a funcionar el tercer Colegio Diaconal.

Hace algunos años un grupo de ex alumnos del Colegio San Ignacio que trabajaba en el área de educación se reunió con una intención mayor: formar un Colegio Ignaciano, mixto, de barrio y para la familia. En marzo de 1998 abre sus puertas el Colegio San Francisco Javier de Huechuraba con 70 alumnos.

Este año nuestro colegio San Francisco Javier de Huechuraba cumple 11 años de vida y 1223 alumnos desde Jardín Infantil hasta IV Medio. Trabajan 200 personas entre profesores, directivos, administrativos y auxiliares. Tiene 3 hectáreas de terreno, en que se han construido 9.400 mts²

Coleman Land Company was founded in St. Charles on June 1st, 1940 by Leslie P. Coleman and his two sons, James L. Coleman and Charles Coleman. Colerain Township was first settled in the spring of 1790 by a surveyor, John Dunlap, who named the settlement after his birthplace of Coleraine, Ireland. The settlement, Fort Coleraine, commonly called Dunlap's Station, was located on the bend of the great Miami River several miles below the bridge to Ross, Ohio.

Only one year after it had been settled, Dunlap's Station was temporarily abandoned following a brutal attack it sustained by Native Americans. John Dunlap and the 11 families living at the Fort moved down river to the settlement at North Bend.

In 1794, Coleraine was established as a Township. The "e" at the end of Coleraine was dropped sometime later, Americanizing the name Colerain. The villages of Barnesburg, Bevis, Dunlap and Groesbeck were established in the early 1800′s along Blue Rock and Colerain Roads, two of the oldest roads in the area. German immigrants farmed the southwestern portion between 1840 and 1870, heavily influencing the township's cultural and architectural traditions.

Today, Colerain Township is the 2nd largest township in the state of Ohio encompassing 42.9 square miles while serving 58,499 residents. Colerain Township is located north of Cincinnati and is conveniently located off of two major interstates providing easy access to our residential and business communities.
