2 - A DGCI prossegue as seguintes atribuições:

a) Assegurar a liquidação e cobrança dos impostos e outros tributos que lhe incumbe administrar;

b) Exercer a acção de inspecção tributária, prevenindo e combatendo a fraude e evasão fiscais;

c) Exercer a acção de justiça tributária e assegurar a representação da Fazenda Pública junto dos órgãos judiciais;

d) Executar acordos e convenções internacionais em matéria tributária, nomeadamente os destinados a evitar a dupla tributação, cooperar com as administrações tributárias de outros Estados;

e) Informar os particulares sobre as respectivas obrigações fiscais e apoiá-los no cumprimento das mesmas;
